GIS (also known as mapping)
What is GIS?
GIS is an acronym for Geographic Information Systems.
Delta County uses GIS to manage spatial information, essentially modern day mapping. A GIS system brings power to mapping, provides visual representations of problems, and can analyze and interpret data to find patterns and trends. You may not know it, but you probably use a GIS application on a regular basis--Google maps, Zillow, Petfinder, Craigslist, and many more. In its simplest form, GIS is information attached to a location stored in a computer file with the address and GPS location that can be shown on a map. Below are some GIS maps specifically for Delta County (select the image or heading to link to the appropriate map/page).
Elevation GIS Data
Please go to the Colorado Hazard Mapping LiDAR (Light Detecting and Ranging) Download Tool or use the LiDAR Request Form to obtain the latest elevation data for Delta County.

This map contains parcels (owner name and link to assessor records), roads, commissioner districts, voter precincts , town boundaries, city zoning, water companies, address points, and 2019 aerial imagery. In this mapping application, the user can change the base layer, search parcels, draw, measure area, and print maps. The information in this map is updated on a regular daily to bi-monthly schedule.

Use an address or parcel identification number to find zoning information for a property.
Flood Hazard Map with Address Look-Up
Interactive map where you search an address and receive information regarding FEMA flooding zones currently in effect for the searched address. Flood zones are currently being updated (2019) by the Colorado Water Conservation Board and are available as draft as-is data by request in County GIS Office. It also includes links for USGS river level alert sign-up and flood prediction service.
For an extended map of the floodplain in Delta County and the state, please visit the Colorado Hazard Mapping and RISK Map Portal.
